Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America responded to Tim Scott’s announcement of his 2024 presidential exploratory committee:
“Tim Scott’s story of perseverance and achieving the American dream is a beautiful first-hand testament to why we fight so hard for the right to life. Raised by a courageous single mother who worked hard to provide a loving home to her children despite many challenges, Scott knows personally what each child is capable of, if only they have the same opportunities and essential protections those of us who are born take for granted,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Senator Scott sees right through the Democrats’ claim that minorities and the poor need abortion to succeed, exposing eugenics and lethal bigotry for what they are. He is a vocal advocate for unborn children and for mothers in all circumstances and stands up for the American people against Biden’s extreme agenda of mandating abortion on demand until birth at taxpayer expense in every state.”
In a video announcing the exploratory committee, Scott states, “I will protect our most fundamental right, the right to life itself.”
Dannenfelser continued:
“The Dobbs decision returned the issue of abortion back to the American people to decide through their elected representatives in the states, in Congress, and in the White House. We need a president who will champion minimum federal standards to protect unborn children and their mothers, such as when their heartbeat can be detected or when they feel pain, to get our country out of the club of nations like China and North Korea that allow brutal abortions for any reason up to birth.
“We welcome Tim Scott outlining his pro-life vision and policy platform in the new Dobbs era as the primary election unfolds.”
