Injunction Lifted; Protective Pro-Life Law Will Potentially Save 13,000 Lives a Year
Washington, D.C. – Tonight a Pima County judge lifted an injunction against Arizona’s law that broadly protects unborn children and their mothers throughout pregnancy, with an exception to save the life of the mother.
Attorney General Mark Brnovich applauded the ruling for upholding the actions of elected officials on behalf of Arizona citizens.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America praised the decision, saying:
“Judge Kellie Johnson’s decision is a major win for unborn children and their mothers. Arizona’s protections for life align with the values of the people and have been repeatedly championed by the legislature,” said Katie Glenn, state policy director for SBA Pro-Life America. “Arizonans are deeply pro-life and, now that the Dobbs victory has restored the right of the people and their representatives to take action to save lives, their long-preferred policy can take effect. In passing legislation earlier this year to protect unborn children from brutal late abortions after 15 weeks, the legislature still carefully preserved the more protective law and insisted that it should take priority when possible.
“The court’s order is clear: judicial fairness dictates a full removal of the injunction that has blocked the will of the people for decades. We thank Attorney General Brnovich and our allies for their strong defense of the will of Arizonans and celebrate this law’s potential to save more than 13,000 lives a year.”
SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser added:
“U.S. Senator Mark Kelly, Katie Hobbs, and other pro-abortion Democrats running for office must answer whether they stand with the people, or with the radical abortion lobby in its push to block virtually all state limits on abortion and impose abortion on demand up to birth, paid for by taxpayers, nationwide. Our ground team has visited the homes of more than half a million voters in Arizona to ensure they are held accountable.”
Women Speak Out PAC, a partner of SBA Pro-Life America, has boots on the ground in Arizona and has visited more than 564,000 homes to educate voters on the Democrats’ pro-abortion extremism. This election cycle, SBA Pro-Life America and its entities plan to spend $78 million. This includes reaching eight million voters across battleground states – four million directly at their doors – to elect pro-life leaders across America and in D.C.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
