But even the radical governor of California, Gavin Newsom, turned his back on Planned Parenthood this year.

Newsom’s budget proposal cut $500 million from Planned Parenthood’s budget – something a Planned Parenthood spokesperson called “effectively defunding Planned Parenthood in the state of California,” comparing the move to Republicans’ One Big Beautiful Bill.

South San Francisco’s Planned Parenthood used to do abortions using drugs up to 11 weeks, one week after the approved timeframe by the FDA.
