Wisconsin Democrats Are Running Abortion ‘Accomplice’ David Crowley Against the Unborn

David Crowley in a suit and glasses speaks at a podium against a background of concentric red circles.

Wisconsin voters deserve to know exactly where the Democrat nominee for governor David Crowley stands on abortion before they cast their votes.

Crowley is a committed accomplice of the abortion lobby fighting against protecting the unborn at any stage.

“I’m going to continue to be an accomplice and continue to champion abortion.”

“I’m going to continue to be an accomplice and continue to champion abortion,” Crowley has openly admitted. The Wisconsin Democrat has repeatedly refused to name any point in pregnancy at which unborn babies should be protected while opposing existing Wisconsin limits on late-term third-trimester abortions.

Watch: Crowley: Abortions Without Parental Consent.

Wisconsin does not need an abortion accomplice, but a governor who respects the law, respects conscience rights for doctors and hospitals, and values babies over donors from Planned Parenthood Action.

Crowley Dodges Basic Questions

When confronted with the charge that he supports abortion up to birth, Crowley flatly denied it. Asked the obvious follow-up, “So you don’t want abortion unlimited up to nine months. But what is the cut off for you?” — he retreated to the standard talking point: the decision should be left between a woman and her doctor. Pressed yet again, he replied, “You should probably ask a doctor that,” then added, “I don’t know anything.“

“So you don’t want abortion unlimited up to nine months. But what is the cut off for you?”

A

“You should probably ask a doctor that.”

A

“I don’t know anything.”

This was not a one-off. In an October 21 debate with his opponent Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI), Crowley received FOUR opportunities to clarify whether he would sign a bill legalizing abortion up to birth. He deflected each time and never answered the question.

Extreme Positions, Not Popular Ones

Crowley has called abortion “essential healthcare” and supports amending the Wisconsin constitution to make abortion a right. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he also intends to target Wisconsin’s current protections for babies after 20 weeks of pregnancy. In practice, the only “limit” he accepts is the judgment of the abortionist, while still denying that this means abortion up to birth.

His refusal to draw any line is deliberate. Americans and Wisconsinites do not support abortion-on-demand through all nine months. Crowley hides behind vague talking points because the actual position is unpopular.

Truth Matters in 2026 and Beyond

Women Speak Out PAC is launching a $1 million campaign of ads, mail, texts, and calls to reach 600,000 pro-life voters across Wisconsin and expose Crowley’s record. Message testing by Evolving Strategies for SBA Pro-Life America shows that simply telling voters where Democrats stand on abortion moves the electorate by more than four points—enough to decide close races.

Democrats know this. As The New York Times reported in 2022, their own testing showed abortion messaging works only if they “keep the conversation broad” and “avoid a discussion over the details about gestational week limits.” Recent ballot initiatives and bills like the Women’s Health Protection Act achieve late-term abortion by giving providers broad discretion rather than stating the policy outright.

“Keep the conversation broad” and “avoid a discussion over the details about gestational week limits.”

Republican candidates who clearly and consistently name these positions force accountability. Those who stay silent allow Democrats to define the issue on their own terms. Spreading the truth remains the responsibility of every voter who believes unborn children deserve protection.
