Washington, D.C.Today Susan B. Anthony List’s Candidate Fund PAC announced its endorsement of U.S. Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler (R) for re-election in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District.

“Congresswoman Herrera Beutler is a tremendous advocate for moms and babies and we are proud to endorse her again,” said Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s vice president of government affairs. “Jaime is living proof that women don’t need abortion to succeed and we should never underestimate a mother’s courage. She brings the same tenacity of her battle for her daughter Abigail’s life to Congress, working to guarantee every mother and child the right to fulfill their inherent potential. As out-of-touch Beltway elites seek to impose abortion on demand until birth nationwide, she is fighting to stop taxpayer-funded abortion and uphold commonsense, lifesaving policies that Washingtonians of all stripes support. Strong pro-life women leaders like Jaime are a powerful counter to abortion extremism, and her personal story inspires hope in the face of cynical pro-abortion politics. We urge Evergreen State voters to support her in the primary.”

Herrera Beutler previously served in the Washington State legislature from 2007 to 2010 and worked in the office of U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA-05). She and her husband Daniel have three children and live in Battle Ground. Abigail, now 8, was diagnosed with Potter’s Syndrome at 20 weeks in the womb. Born without kidneys, she was not expected to survive, but then-experimental treatment saved her life.

Herrera Beutler has earned an A+ on SBA List’s National Pro-Life Scorecard and has maintained a longtime 100% pro-life voting record. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, she has been a leading advocate for preserving the Hyde Amendment and stopping the expansion of taxpayer-funded abortion on demand. Herrera Beutler founded the congressional Maternity Care Caucus. She is a co-sponsor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Full Disclosure Act, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, and the Support and Value Expectant Moms and Babies Act. She signed the pro-life congressional amicus brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, in which the Court will assess whether pre-viability limits on abortion are constitutional.

SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
