Proposed Change Comes on the Same Day Abortion Extremist Xavier Becerra Confirmed to Head HHS
Washington, D.C. – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today blasted the Biden-Harris administration’s proposal to rewrite the rules of the Title X family planning program to allow taxpayer funding of abortion businesses:
“From day one the Biden-Harris administration has pushed a radical and deeply unpopular agenda on abortion,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “On the very same day Xavier Becerra – a notoriously eager pro-abortion advocate – is confirmed to lead HHS, the agency announces plans to rewrite Title X and force taxpayers to fund the abortion industry. President Trump’s Protect Life Rule sought to honor both the plain statutory language and the will of Americans of all stripes who oppose using taxpayer dollars to fund abortion on demand.”
As Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and congressional Democrats continue to push their radical abortion agenda, SBA List remains vigilant against efforts to:
- Appoint and confirm eager pro-abortion advocates like Xavier Becerra and Shalanda Young to key cabinet positions.
- Pass the deceptively named “Equality Act,” a Trojan horse for massive expansion of abortion.
- Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, which would enshrine a so-called “right” to abortion in the U.S. Constitution.
- Federalize election laws by passing H.R. 1, which directly targets our mission to elect pro-life leaders and pass pro-life laws.
