Demsâ Extreme War on Pregnancy Help Hurts Women, Fuels Vandalism & Goes Against Voters
Washington, D.C. â Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America today condemned the news that Yelp will place discriminatory warning labels on listings for pregnancy centers that provide alternatives to abortion. Google has also come under pressure from pro-abortion Democrats to exclude pregnancy centers from its search results.
Polling previously released by SBA Pro-Life America finds that 76% of voters favor pro-life pregnancy centers (54% strongly favor), including 73% of Democrats and 73% of pro-choice voters.
SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser slammed Yelpâs move in a statement:
âShame on Big Tech companies like Yelp for colluding with the abortion lobby in their war on compassionate pregnancy help. Discriminatory labels are not meant to inform, but to scare women away from receiving the support and resources they need. Americaâs pregnancy centers exist to serve women and families, taking financial pressures and other types of coercion out of the equation. The abortion lobby meanwhile fights tooth and nail against womenâs right to informed consent, including hearing their babyâs heartbeat or seeing an ultrasound. If Big Techâs labels were truthful, theyâd highlight all the real services pregnancy centers provide that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry donât, such as such as diapers, formula, clothing, strollers, parenting and childbirth classes, education and career help, and much more â typically free of charge.
An analysis by Charlotte Lozier Institute found 14 community-based health clinics and pregnancy centers for every Planned Parenthood facility in the United States. Data reveals that since 2016, more than 800,000 lives have been saved through pregnancy centersâ community-based care, including services provided by 10,200 licensed medical professionals (both staff and volunteers).
Dannenfelser continued, âPregnancy centers effectively save lives, and the radical abortion lobby and their extremist Democrat allies like Elizabeth Warren are desperate to âcrack downâ on them. Pro-abortion lies are fueling an unprecedented rash of attacks against them. We thank pro-life lawmakers across America who stand with these heroic nonprofits against pro-abortion bullying and discrimination.â
SBA Pro-Life America has documented more than 80 incidents of violence, vandalism and intimidation toward pro-life individuals and organizations, including pregnancy centers and houses of worship, since the leak of the Dobbs draft opinion. In June the group joined CatholicVote and over a dozen political organizations in sending a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding action.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
