Georgians Rejected Stacey Abrams, Who Denied Unborn Children Have Beating Hearts
Washington, D.C. – Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America today slammed the decision by a judge in Fulton County, Georgia, that deemed the state’s pro-life heartbeat protections unconstitutional:
“Shame on Judge McBurney for ignoring the will of the voters and imposing his own pro-abortion bias on Georgia instead. Governor Brian Kemp was decisively re-elected after signing strong protections for unborn children and their mothers. Science reveals unborn babies have beating hearts by six weeks and Georgians reject Stacey Abrams’ and the Democrats’ cruel pro-abortion agenda,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The Dobbs victory restored the right of Americans and their elected representatives to enact laws like Georgia’s that save thousands of lives. We thank Governor Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr for vigorously defending Georgia’s pro-life laws, and we’re proud to stand with our allies in this fight.”
Attorney General Carr has already appealed the decision.

“Judge McBurney’s editorializing comments suggest his personal frustration with the U.S. Supreme Court outweighed any good-faith analysis of Georgia’s laws. Georgians re-elected Governor Kemp, who signed this law, and many of the lawmakers who passed it in 2019. They clearly support this commonsense, life-saving law, which should take full effect again soon.”
During the 2022 campaign, Abrams – who backs abortion on demand without limits – denied unborn children have heartbeats by six weeks, calling the sound pregnant women may hear at doctor appointments “manufactured sound.”
SBA Pro-Life America and its partner Women Speak Out PAC contacted over 754,000 Georgia voters via door-to-door canvassing, voter contact mail, digital ads, live phone calls and text messaging to educate them on the life issue and expose pro-abortion Democrats’ extremism. In October, WSO PAC launched a $1M television ad buy calling out Stacey Abrams and Raphael Warnock for their extremism. Kemp defeated Abrams by a margin of eight points.
