SBA VP On the Ground in Texas to Support Abbott’s Strong Pro-Life Leadership

Washington, D.C. – Today Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Governor Greg Abbott for re-election.

SBA Pro-Life America’s Vice President of Government Affairs Marilyn Musgrave, a former member of Congress, will join Abbott on the ground for an event highlighting organizations from across the state that promote Texas values.

“It is our honor to give our full endorsement to Governor Greg Abbott for his re-election,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Governor Abbott is a courageous champion for the unborn and strikes fear into the brutal abortion lobby. Under his leadership, Texas is a bright light for the nation – protecting the lives of an estimated 55,000 children a year throughout pregnancy and standing alongside their mothers with a commitment to the support they need. In a new era for life in America after Dobbs, Abbott continues to set an example, fighting ceaselessly for every little boy and girl. As the Democrats seek to flood every state with dangerous mail-order abortion drugs to undermine pro-life laws, Abbott has tackled this scourge head-on, and he has signed legislation to ensure medical professionals are educated about the requirements of Texas law. Governor Abbott has answered the call to safeguard the most vulnerable at every turn and we couldn’t be more grateful for his model of pro-life servant leadership.”

Governor Greg Abbott signed 12 new pro-life laws in 2021 alone, including heartbeat protections and safeguards against mail-order abortion drugs. He was one of 12 pro-life governors to file a brief in the landmark Dobbs Supreme Court case. Under his leadership, the Texas Legislature allocated $140 million in funding for the Thriving Texas Families program, which provides counseling, material assistance, care coordination and housing support.
