Pro-life Governor Greg Gianforte has Vowed to Sign Pro-life Protections into Law
Washington, D.C. – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today celebrated the passage of four pro-life laws in Montana:
“We are thrilled to see Montana enact strong laws to protect unborn children and their mothers,” said Sue Liebel, SBA List’s state policy director. “With pro-life Governor Greg Gianforte at the helm, our pro-life allies in the Montana Legislature worked swiftly to advance these pro-life protections, which reflect the will of the people. Montana is now the first state to place its own restrictions on dangerous chemical abortion pills – a vital safeguard to keep women informed about the risky business of chemical abortion, even if FDA safety standards on abortion pills should be removed, as has become increasingly likely under a Biden presidency.
“While pro-abortion Democrats in Washington seek to expand abortion on demand, paid for by taxpayers, states across the country led by pro-life governors are fighting back – championing law and policy to protect and promote life.”
Earlier this year, experts from SBA List and its research arm, Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), testified in favor of these bills, alongside members of the Montana Family Foundation, Americans United for Life, and Students for Life of America. A diverse group of young women, students, doctors, lawyers, and lobbyists teamed up to convey the urgency of passing these laws in Montana.
SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
