Biden Admin Rewrites the Law to Expand Abortion on Demand Until Birth, Paid for by Taxpayers
Washington, D.C. – Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America today slammed the Biden administration after the U.S. Department of Defense announced it will pay the cost of travel and transportation for servicemembers and their dependents to receive elective abortions. The Department of Defense has long been prohibited from funding elective abortions for service members.
Two dozen states have laws in effect or soon to be in effect that are anticipated to protect as many as 200,000 unborn children annually, all of which allow necessary and timely medical treatment to save the life of a pregnant woman. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin characterized those protections as “unusual, extraordinary, hardship, or emergency circumstances” that interfere with military readiness.
“The Biden administration will stop at nothing to impose abortion on demand until birth nationwide, paid for by taxpayers, no matter what laws they have to ignore or rewrite,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Earlier this year it was expanding abortion on demand illegally through the Veterans Administration, in flagrant violation of longstanding federal law. Now Biden promises the very first bill he will sign in the new Congress will mandate abortion on demand without limits in all 50 states.
“Democrats are clearly worried they will lose Congress but are doubling down on an agenda so unpopular, only 10% of Americans agree with it. The stakes could not be higher. Our ground team is working relentlessly to educate voters and hold pro-abortion extremists accountable at the ballot box.”
