WASHINGTON, D.C.Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Patrice Douglas for U.S. Congress in Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District.

“Patrice Douglas understands that all life is precious, and that women deserve better than abortion. As a Congresswoman, we know she will courageously defend unborn children and mothers and we are proud to endorse her candidacy,” said SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Patrice will be an incredible addition to the Pro-Life Women’s Caucus, which has been at the forefront of advancing pro-life, pro-woman legislation in the House. We urge all pro-life voters in Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District to enthusiastically support her bid.”

Patrice Douglas was first elected as Mayor of Edmond, Oklahoma in 2009 and served two terms at the city’s helm. She was then appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin to serve as Oklahoma State Corporation Commissioner and she serves on the Executive Committee of the Edmond Chamber of Commerce. Prior to serving in elected office, Douglas served as the President of Spirit Bank and Executive Vice President of First Fidelity Bank, as well as Vice President and General Counsel for ACP Metal.

Patrice Douglas will compete in the June 24 Republican Primary for this open congressional seat.

Anthony List and its affiliated Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women at all levels of government.  The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
