Washington, DC ─ The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today announced its endorsement of Deb Fischer for U.S. Senate in Nebraska.
“Deb Fischer has an unwavering record of pro-life leadership,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “She has fought tirelessly to keep tax dollars away from the abortion industry and to stop cruel late-term abortions after five months. In contrast, her opponent Jane Raybould has been backed by America’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood. Raybould’s pro-abortion stance is out of step with Nebraskans who cherish life at every stage. SBA List proudly endorses Senator Deb Fischer and looks forward to her re-election.”
Accepting the endorsement, Senator Fischer said:
“I’m honored to be endorsed by the Susan B. Anthony List. I have always believed that women with unplanned pregnancies deserve our compassion and support, not judgment or condemnation. As a U.S. senator, I have been proud to support policies that empower women, protect unborn children, and provide resources to community health centers that truly provide quality health care for women.”
Fischer was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012. She is a co-sponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation that would stop late-term abortions after 20 weeks, more than halfway through pregnancy, a point when science shows unborn children can feel pain. Fischer has consistently opposed taxpayer funding of abortion and worked toward defunding Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business, which aborts more than 328,000 unborn children and receives over half a billion dollars in taxpayer funding each year. Previously Fischer represented the 43rd district in the Nebraska state legislature.
