Washington, D.C. –  Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Leah Vukmir for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.

“We are proud to endorse pro-life champion Leah Vukmir for Senate,” said former congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “A nurse and a mother, Leah has devoted her career to saving lives. In the state legislature she co-sponsored legislation to limit late-term abortions after five months of pregnancy and fought to stop the sale of aborted baby body parts. We are excited to see her take on Senator Tammy Baldwin, who supports abortion on demand through birth and even voted to keep barbaric partial-birth abortions legal. Leah Vukmir will stand up to abortion extremists in the Senate at a time when her bold leadership could not be more urgently needed. We encourage all Wisconsinites concerned about protecting innocent life to get to the polls and elect Leah.”

Leah Vukmir has represented Wisconsin’s 5th District in the state legislature since 2002, first in the Assembly and then in the Senate. She is a registered nurse and nationally certified pediatric nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience. She was the sponsor of Wisconsin’s Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, signed into law by Governor Scott Walker in 2015. She has two children and resides in her hometown of Brookfield.

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, visiting more than 1.1 million homes in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. SBA List is a network of more than 689,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
