National Pro-life Group Announces Six-Figure Campaign to Get Bill to the 50-Vote Margin

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This afternoon Susan B. Anthony List announced its support for the Better Care Reconciliation Act. SBA List plans to spend six-figures to support passage of the legislation in the Senate. The campaign will include targeted digital ads and live phone calls.

“SBA List supports the Better Care Reconciliation Act and will rally the pro-life movement behind it. The bill deserves the support of every pro-life Senator. We urge Senate Republicans to unite and move to debate this bill next week,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

“The Better Care Reconciliation Act contains strong pro-life protections, including re-directing abortion giant Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding to community health centers. Obamacare’s assault on innocent unborn children was an unprecedented expansion of abortion funding.  This bill includes significant steps toward rolling back that damage and returning to the principle that abortion is not health care. Furthermore, re-directing $400 million of Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding would be the biggest ever blow to the abortion industry’s taxpayer funding.

“While it is unlikely that every pro-life provision will survive the reconciliation process, we believe that the final product will represent meaningful progress for the pro-life cause. The legislation would severely cripple the abortion industry’s ability to end the lives of unborn children and deceive women and girls. The pro-life grassroots elected a pro-life House, Senate, and White House expecting these victories.”

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, knocking on more than 1.1 million doors in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 465,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
