Washington, D.C.Today Susan B. Anthony List’s Candidate Fund PAC announced its endorsement of U.S. Representative Chris Smith (R) for re-election in New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District.

“Congressman Chris Smith is a lifelong leader in the pro-life movement and a staunch advocate for the unborn and their mothers in Congress,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Rep. Smith’s experience leading the House Pro-Life Caucus is invaluable. At every turn he has exposed the extreme Biden-Pelosi agenda of making taxpayers complicit in abortion on demand. He is a champion of the Hyde Amendment, which has saved more than 2.5 million lives, and its entire family of policies that keep taxpayers out of the abortion business domestically and abroad. At a time when the Supreme Court could finally return the right to protect life to the people and their elected representatives, heroes like Rep. Smith are needed more than ever in Washington. We urge New Jerseyans to re-elect him.”

Smith and his wife Marie are lifelong New Jerseyans who live out their pro-life values in all that they do. Prior to his time in Congress, Smith was the executive director of New Jersey Right to Life. He is the longtime chair of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus and has maintained an impeccable pro-life voting record, earning an A+ on SBA List’s National Pro-Life Scorecard. He has introduced numerous bills, including the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Full Disclosure Act, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, and the Informed Consent Act, and is a co-sponsor of many more. He co-led the pro-life congressional amicus brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, in which the Court will assess whether pre-viability limits on abortion are constitutional.

SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
