Budd Has What It Takes to Defeat Pro-Abortion Extremist Beasley
Washington, D.C. – Today SBA Pro-Life America’s Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Ted Budd (R) for U.S. Senate, representing North Carolina. Budd is running against former North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Cheri Beasley. Beasley is a vocal supporter of the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act, more aptly called the Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act, legislation that would effectively codify a right to abortion on demand until birth into federal law and nullify pro-life laws in North Carolina and across the country.
“Congressman Ted Budd is an ardent defender of life in the U.S. House, defending the rights of the unborn, advocating for the safety and security of their mothers, and protecting North Carolinians tax dollars. We need him to continue this good work in the U.S. Senate,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser, a North Carolina native. “Ted continually calls out the extremism of the other side, which pushes abortion on demand up until the moment of birth at the taxpayer’s expense while completely ignoring the devastating impact the abortion industry has on vulnerable women and their families. His compassionate advocacy contrasts with Cheri Beasley, who would rather ignore the will of a majority of Americans than listen to her constituents. North Carolina needs a senator to represent their values, not another lobbyist for the abortion industry.
“Ted Budd has what it takes to defeat extremist Cheri Beasley. Our field team is already in North Carolina visiting voters at their homes to defeat Beasley and elect true pro-life champions like Ted. We are proud to support him and look forward to working alongside him towards victory in November.”
Budd earned an A+ on SBA Pro-Life America’s National Pro-Life Scorecard for his impeccable pro-life record. He is a cosponsor of the Support and Value Expectant (SAVE) Moms and Babies Act, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. He signed the pro-life congressional amicus brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, in which the Court returned abortion policy to the people and their elected representatives.
Budd grew up on a farm in Davie County and went on to become a small business owner and farmer himself. He and his wife Amy Kate live on their family farm and have three children. After years of service to his community, he was elected to represent North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District in 2016.
SBA Pro-Life America is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
