Hillary Clinton Stands with Abortion Industry that Trades in Baby Organs & Fights Common Sense Regulations
Washington, D.C. – Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) released the following comment on the three-year anniversary of the conviction of late-term abortionist Kermit Gosnell.
“During Kermit Gosnell’s trial America’s eyes were forced open in horror at the barbarism of late-term abortion. Three years later, we remain one of only seven nations to allow abortion on-demand after five months – a point by which unborn children feel pain,” said Dannenfelser.
“If that were not bad enough, we now know abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood harvest and sell the body parts of aborted children – all while they fight common sense standards aimed at protecting the health and safety of women.
“These revelations have fueled us. In Congress and in state legislatures across the country, women are taking the lead to advance Pain-Capable legislation, defund and investigate Planned Parenthood, and protect women’s health. Women also support our top legislative priority – stopping abortion after five months – in higher numbers than men. This surge of support among women, and the leadership of courageous women like Rep. Marsha Blackburn and Sen. Joni Ernst, stand in stark contrast to Hillary Clinton’s radical pro-abortion ideology. She recently admitted that ‘the unborn person does not have constitutional rights,’ and has vowed to end the Hyde amendment, effectively forcing taxpayers to fund abortion on-demand up until birth.
“The difference between Hillary Clinton’s unwavering dedication to the extreme demands of the pro-abortion lobby and Donald Trump’s pro-life policy commitments couldn’t be clearer. For the sake of the women injured and children killed by abortionists like Kermit Gosnell, and the babies whose bodies are dismembered and then sold like used car parts by Planned Parenthood, it is critical that we take back the White House in 2016.”
On May 13, 2013, Gosnell was found guilty of the murder of three newborn children and the negligent death of one patient. He had been charged with eight counts of murder including seven babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors. Prosecutors said that he made millions of dollars over 30 years, performing as many late-term abortions as he could. His clinic went uninspected for more than a decade.
Gosnell’s conviction spurred action on the federal five-month abortion limit, first passed by the House in June 2013. The legislation has now passed in 16 states and received a landmark vote in the U.S. Senate last September.
The Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office. The SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 465,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
