Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Senate passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which includes language to stop forced taxpayer funding of Big Abortion for one year, as it did in 2015 and 2017. Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America celebrated the passage of the bill, saying:

“Today, Congress took a major step toward ending the forced taxpayer funding of the Big Abortion industry — a crucial victory in the fight against abortion, America’s leading cause of death, and an industry that endangers women and girls,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Women deserve real health care options like community health centers that outnumber Planned Parenthood 15 to 1 and provide far more comprehensive, life-affirming care. There’s no justification for forcing taxpayers to bankroll a scandal-ridden industry that prioritizes abortion, gender transitions, and partisan politics over prenatal care, cancer screenings, and other legitimate services, which continue to decline.

“We congratulate Leader Thune, Chairman Crapo and Senate GOP allies for their hard work to get the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed. We urge the House to finish the work immediately so President Trump can sign it into law. SBA Pro-Life America will proudly score this vote which is the highest priority pro-life vote in decades.”

Reconciliation bills in 2015 and 2017 included a provision to stop funneling American tax dollars to Big Abortion for one year. The Supreme Court ruled last week in Medina that states are also allowed to defund Big Abortion.
