Rep. Julia Letlow
LA-05 (Republican)
Congresswoman Letlow has stood up against the pro-abortion agenda of the Biden-Harris administration and Pelosi Democrats who are actively working to expand abortion access and abortion funding. Rep. Letlow has voted consistently to defend the lives of the unborn and infants. This includes stopping hard-earned tax dollars from paying for abortion, whether domestically or internationally, and protecting health care provider rights for those who refuse to engage in brutal abortions.
Congresswoman Letlow pressed HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra on why the Biden administration is abandoning the Hyde Amendment and allowing family planning funding to go to abortion providers. She spoke on the Floor in support of a procedural motion that would allow for a vote to make the Hyde Amendment permanent through H.R. 18, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, and also offered an amendment to the consolidated spending bill to ensure family planning funds do not go to abortion providers. Rep. Letlow offered the motion to recommit to the Women's Health Protection Act, adding protections for infants born-alive after failed abortions. Additionally, she led a pro-life amendment that would Hyde protections to H.R. 2119.
