Here’s the follow up from last week’s coverage of a Russian article entitled “Finish it off so it doesn’t suffer,” which called for the killing of disabled babies after their birth.

Russian journalist Aleksandr Nikonov said that “the killing of the newborn is in fact the same as an abortion or super-late term abortion” and called disabled newborns “defective blanks” and “newborn idiots.” His article, stating that depriving disabled infants of life is “true humanism,” has outraged many parents of disabled children in Russia, including Snezhana Mitina and Svetlana Shtarkova — both mothers of children with developmental disabilities.
