âDignity for Aborted Children Actâ Requires Respectful Treatment of Unborn Childrenâs Bodies, Mirrors State Law Signed by Then-Gov. Mike Pence
Washington, D.C. â Today U.S. Representatives Jackie Walorski (IN-02) and Jim Banks (IN-03) introduced the Dignity for Aborted Children Act, federal legislation to require respectful disposition of the remains of unborn children and require accountability and transparency from the abortion industry. Since September, the remains of more than 2,400 unborn children have been discovered on the property of late abortionist Ulrich âGeorgeâ Klopfer and investigation by local authorities is ongoing.
The bill corresponds to legislation introduced by Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) and follows an Indiana law, signed in 2016 by then-Governor Mike Pence and upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year, requiring the humane and dignified disposition of human fetal remains.
Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) President Marjorie Dannenfelser praised the legislation in a statement:
âWe thank Congresswoman Walorski and Congressman Banks for taking action to ensure a travesty like Ulrich Klopferâs House of Horrors never happens again. The entire nation is rightly horrified by late abortionist Ulrich Klopferâs stockpile of the bodies of his tiny victims, as they were by the depravity of Kermit Gosnell. This gruesome discovery exposes the reality of the abortion industry, which destroys innocent babies for profit on a similar scale every day, dismantling the lie that abortion is health care. Until all children â born and unborn â are protected in law, the least we can do is treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve as human beings. We urge Congress to pass the Dignity for Aborted Children Act right away.â
