WASHINGTON – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced their endorsement of Jackie Walorski, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Indiana’s 2nd district. Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser commented on the endorsement:

“Rep. Donnelly’s vote for pro-abortion healthcare reform is such a contrast to Jackie’s relentless passion. She added an amendment to a Hate Crimes Bill in Indiana that would have added unborn children to list of protected classes and called for an investigation when a Planned Parenthood clinic was accused of covering up statutory rape.”
Though Joe Donnelly claimed to be pro-life, and originally voted for the Stupak- Pitts Amendment, his compromising vote for healthcare reform that included federally funded abortion was a betrayal to his district. The Susan B. Anthony List polled Rep. Donnelly’s district prior to the healthcare reform bill; the results indicated that 60% would be less likely to vote to re-elect Rep. Donnelly if he voted for healthcare reform and 78% opposed taxpayer funding of abortions as part of healthcare reform.
Jackie Walorski won the Republican Primary with 61% of the vote on May 4 against Jack Jordan and Tony Zirkle.
Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsements are promoted to the organization’s nationwide membership of over 280,000 Americans.
