Washington, DC ─ Today, the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Rep. Jim Renacci for Ohio’s 16th Congressional District.  He will face Rep. Betty Sutton in November.

“The records of Representatives Jim Renacci and Betty Sutton couldn’t be more different when it comes to protecting unborn children, women, and Ohio taxpayers,” said Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Upon his election to Congress in 2010, Renacci promptly voted to repeal Obamacare, the largest expansion of abortion on demand since Roe v. Wade. He has represented the true views of women on this critical issue far better than his female opponent, Congresswoman Betty Sutton. A darling of the abortion lobby, Rep. Sutton has continually voted against protecting the unborn and in favor of forcing taxpayers to fund abortion. The SBA List Candidate Fund looks forward to seeing Congressman Renacci continue his defense of Ohio women and families.”

Following his election in 2010, Rep. Renacci has earned a 100 percent pro-life voting record with the National Right to Life Committee. He has been endorsed by National Right to Life, Ohio Right to Life, Concerned Women for America, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Citizens United Political Victory Fund and the National Rifle Association.

Redistricting has placed two incumbent members of Congress in Ohio’s new 16th Congressional District. Jim Renacci’s opponent, Congresswoman Betty Sutton, has been endorsed by EMILY’s List and holds a 0 percent voting record with the National Right to Life Committee.

During the 2010 election cycle, SBA List spent $11 million and was involved in 90 races, 62 of which resulted in victories. Successes included: defeating 15 of 20 so-called “pro-life” Democrats who voted for abortion funding in the health care reform bill, increasing the number of pro-life women in the House by 70 percent, filling the void of pro-life women in the U.S. Senate, and increasing the number of pro-life women governors from one to four.

The Susan B. Anthony List, and its affiliated Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates that will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List will emphasize the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
