Washington, D.C. – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) praised the budget passed today by the Ohio legislature, which increases funding for life-affirming care through the Ohio Parenting and Pregnancy Program to $7.5 million, an increase from $1 million:

“Ohio lawmakers have demonstrated bold pro-life leadership with a budget that supports the needs of mothers and children by funding pregnancy care centers,” said SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Our nation is moving toward a legal consensus that is increasingly protective of unborn children at every stage. Compassionate alternatives to abortion fill a critical need and help mothers make a brave decision for life. America’s pro-life pregnancy centers serve an estimated two million people and save communities at least $161 million each year, as they are overwhelmingly staffed by dedicated volunteers. They deserve to be supported and funded. We thank our allies in the legislature and at Ohio Right to Life for their tireless work to get this budget to the governor’s desk. We look forward to seeing Governor DeWine sign it and hope the entire nation will follow Ohio’s lead.”

SBA List is a network of more than 787,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
