Washington, D.C. – Today Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) for re-election.

“Senator Mike Lee is a principled champion of life, the foundation of all rights,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Senator Lee combines a unique passion and expertise on our Constitution in defending the unborn and their mothers. In the Judiciary Committee, his courageous description of the brutality of partial-birth abortion highlighted the stakes of Supreme Court nominations. As D.C. authorities and the Biden administration turn a blind eye to possible infanticide, he is leading the fight for justice. He can always be counted on to hold pro-abortion Democrats accountable for their extremism. In contrast, Evan McMullin betrayed his own ‘solemn promise’ to fight for the right of Utahns and all Americans to protect life in the law. Senator Lee will not waver or be intimidated by the abortion lobby and we urge Utah voters to re-elect him again.”

Lee earned an A+ on SBA Pro-Life America’s National Pro-Life Scorecard for his impeccable pro-life record. He introduced the Protecting Life in Foreign Assistance Act, the Abortion is Not Health Care Act, and the Protecting Life in Health Savings Accounts Act. He is also a co-sponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, the Support and Value Expectant (SAVE) Moms and Babies Act, the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act, and the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act. He signed the pro-life congressional amicus brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, in which the Court will assess whether pre-viability limits on abortion are constitutional. Lee is a vocal advocate in the Senate, speaking on the Senate floor, in the Senate Judiciary Committee, and in press conferences.

Lee started his law career early, watching his father Solicitor General Rex Lee argue cases before the Supreme Court. He earned his law degree from Brigham Young University, clerked for then-Judge Samuel Alito on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and spent several years as a private attorney before taking the position of assistant U.S. attorney in Salt Lake City. He went on to serve Governor Jon Huntsman as general counsel and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010. Lee and his wife Sharon live in Utah County. They have three children and are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
