Pro-Life Representative Seeks Re-Election Against Pro-Abortion Challenger
Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Representative Kristi Noem, who is running for re-election in South Dakota’s at-large district.
“Kristi Noem is a fearless champion for unborn children and their mothers,” said SBA List Vice President and former U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave. “Rep. Noem has spearheaded the effort to protect babies from lethal discrimination before they are born and to ensure that abortion survivors are given equal treatment under the law. She has consistently worked to defund the corrupt abortion industry. Her opponent Paula Hawks, on the other hand, stands with America’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood. Hawks works for the abortion lobby, not the women and families of South Dakota. We are proud to endorse Kristi in her re-election bid and look forward to her continued pro-life leadership in Congress.”
Rep. Noem welcomed the endorsement, saying: “I am honored to be endorsed by Susan B. Anthony List. As a mother of three and a woman of faith, I believe that every human life is equal in dignity and the government has no business forcing taxpayers to fund abortion. I will always stand up for those who have no voice.”
Rep. Noem was first elected to Congress in 2010 after serving in the South Dakota House of Representatives. She has a 100 percent pro-life voting record, including co-sponsoring the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, and legislation to prevent Title X funds from going to entities that perform abortions.
Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office.
