Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) and James Lankford (R-OK) together with Representatives Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Robert Aderholt (R-AL) sent a letter signed by 144 members of Congress to President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

This letter lets President Trump know that pro-life members of Congress are behind him as he rolls back Biden’s radical abortion agenda and reinstates the pro-life policies of his first administration.

This inauguration presents a new opportunity for government-wide investment in real alternatives for pregnant and parenting moms. As the letter puts it:

“The Biden administration invested taxpayer dollars into promoting abortion across the government rather than investing in hopeful alternatives to support women and families. We are eager to see the damaging and often illegal outcomes from their efforts reversed.”

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser issued the following statement:

“Positive change for babies and moms has already begun in Washington thanks to President Trump. The work ahead to undo the destruction Biden and Harris caused is critical. I am encouraged to see over 140 members of Congress support a return to the life-saving policies of Trump’s first administration. As soon as Biden took office, he dismantled the policies on life that President Trump championed during his first administration, and instead Biden ruthlessly weaponized the federal government against pro-life Americans and the unborn.

“Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, women, babies and pro-life Americans were all targets of the administration’s abortion extremism. Biden and Harris aggressively spent taxpayer dollars to push abortion into every area of government—violating longstanding laws along the way—and even jailing peaceful pro-life advocates. Thankfully, the American people rejected the Biden-Harris agenda in November and now President Trump has a unique opportunity to end abortion extremism in our federal government and support women, children and families.
