Stitt, Local Leaders Demonstrate Pro-Life Movement’s Compassion
Washington, D.C. –Today Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America celebrated Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt’s (R) executive order creating the Helping Every Life and Parent Task Force, which will study, evaluate and make recommendations for pro-life policies and programs.
SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser praised Stitt, saying:
“Governor Stitt is a dynamic pro-life leader, continually seeking opportunities to save lives and demonstrate the pro-life movement’s compassion for unborn babies and moms. The HELP Task Force will bring together state government leaders and community heroes, marshalling their resources to serve women and families in the new Dobbs era. Gov. Stitt’s order creating the Task Force beautifully expresses its mission: to ‘do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly in support of Oklahoma mothers and families.’ We commend the governor for taking this step and all our local allies working to make Oklahoma one of the safest, most supportive states in the nation for the unborn and their mothers.

The Helping Every Life and Parent Task Force will be made up of leaders of the state House and Senate, the attorney general and the governor’s office, representatives of pro-life nonprofits and the faith community, as well as a licensed OB-GYN. It will provide recommendations on policies and programs for supporting pregnancy centers, eliminating barriers to adoption, provide much needed resources for women experiencing unplanned pregnancy, and educating Oklahomans about life in the womb.
Stitt has previously safeguarded human life by signing the Heartbeat Act, legislation to stop dangerous mail-order abortion drugs, and many others. He most recently signed the Life at Conception Act to protect unborn children and women from abortion throughout pregnancy.
Alternatives to Abortion: A new analysis from Charlotte Lozier Institute finds 38 women’s health and pregnancy centers for every Planned Parenthood facility in Oklahoma. Oklahoma’s Choosing Childbirth Program, established in 2017, supports pregnancy centers by providing grants for services such as ultrasounds, medical exams, counseling, parenting classes, maternity care and more.
