SBA List Team Has Visited 621,000+ Homes in Statewide Canvassing Effort to Expose Nelson’s Abortion Extremism

Washington, D.C.  – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today congratulated Governor Rick Scott on winning the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Florida. Scott will face Senator Bill Nelson in the general election.

“We congratulate Governor Scott on his victory and are encouraged that a strong pro-life candidate will take on Senator Nelson this November,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Nelson previously voted against popular legislation to limit late-term abortion after five months of pregnancy and did not bother to show up for a vote on that important bill this year. He has even voted to keep barbaric partial-birth abortions legal. His extremism is radically out of step with the views of most Floridians.

“SBA List’s Florida field team has spent months visiting voters at their homes, educating them about Nelson’s record and the importance of this election for unborn children and their mothers. From now through Election Day we will continue reaching out to pro-life voters who don’t always get to the polls, as well as persuadable Democrats, Independents, and Hispanic voters. Nelson has failed his constituents, and he will be held accountable at the ballot box.”

SBA List has nearly 150 pro-life canvassers in Florida and announced today its field team has visited more than 621,000 homes to educate and mobilize voters for the 2018 midterm election. Overall this cycle SBA List canvassers have visited more than 1.5 million homes across the battleground states of Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota, West Virginia, and Montana as part of a historic GOTV effort to reach two million homes by Election Day.

SBA List previously launched nelsontooextreme.com to expose Sen. Nelson’s extremist views on abortion and last month conducted a 6-stop media tour across the state rallying voters to contact Sen. Nelson and ask him to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, visiting more than 1.1 million homes in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. SBA List is a network of more than 630,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
