WASHINGTON, D.C.Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Terri Lynn Land for U.S. Senate in Michigan.

“The SBA List Candidate Fund is pleased to endorse Terri Lynn Land’s candidacy and we look forward to counting her among the growing number of pro-life women in the U.S. Senate,” said SBA List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser.  “We need Terri’s help to ensure protection for women and babies, especially those more than halfway through pregnancy and capable of feeling intense pain.”

“Last year, Terri’s opponent, Congressman Gary Peters, refused to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in the House. This compassionate, common ground limit on abortion after 20 weeks, passed the House, but awaits a vote in the U.S. Senate. Terri’s leadership will be critical in moving the U.S. to the right side of history on this issue. Currently, we are only one of seven countries to allow unrestricted abortion beyond this point – a distinction we share with North Korea and China.”

Land has served as Kent County Clerk and Secretary of State. The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsed Terri Lynn Land in 2002 when she first elected to serve as Secretary of State. Terri grew up in the family business started by her grandparents. Today, Terri and her son own a small property management business together. Land also served as a member of the Republican National Committee from 2012 to 2014.

Terri Lynn Land will face Congressman Gary Peters (D) in November. Peters has received endorsements from Planned Parenthood, and NARAL. He holds a 0 percent voting score from the National Right to Life Committee and voted against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a bill that would protect unborn babies beginning at 20-weeks or more than halfway through pregnancy.

The Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women at all levels of government.  The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
