Where do Hillary Clinton and other Democratic candidates stand on painful late-term abortions?
Washington, D.C – This afternoon, the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List echoed Senator Rand Paul who said leading Democrats must be questioned on their extremist abortion positions.
“The current abortion debate is centered on a highly reasonable proposal to protect children after 20 weeks, or five months of pregnancy – the point at which they can feel excruciating pain. The entire GOP field is unified in support of this legislation, which has already passed in fourteen states,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “While every potential Republican nominee is on record, potential Democratic candidates such as Hillary Clinton are silent. Do they support this compassionate, common sense limit on abortion or do they stand by the Democratic Party platform: abortion on-demand, up until the moment of birth, paid for by taxpayers?”
A November 2014 poll from Quinnipiac found that 60 percent of Americans, including 56 percent of Independents and 46 percent of Democrats, support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. To date, 14 states have enacted Pain-Capable laws.
The Susan B. Anthony List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
