Washington, D.C. ─ The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) declared victory as its endorsed candidate, former state senator Debbie Lesko, won her primary for U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona’s 8th congressional district. The general election will take place on April 24.
“Debbie Lesko is a fearless champion for unborn children and their mothers,” said former U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “Debbie is a strong leader who will wholeheartedly support and fight for legislation that saves lives. She will stand up to the extreme demands of the abortion lobby to ensure that taxpayers are not forced to fund abortion. We are so excited to see her advance one step closer to bringing her pro-life leadership to Washington.”
Lesko was elected to the Arizona Senate in 2015 after serving three terms in the state House of Representatives. She has sponsored legislation to hold abortion facilities accountable to health and safety standards and prevent tax dollars from being used to fund abortion. She has a consistent pro-life voting record, including supporting Arizona’s ban on late-term abortions after five months of pregnancy, when science shows unborn children can feel pain. She was a leading member of SBA List’s National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus.
