Washington, D.C. – Today Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Tanya Contreras Wheeless (R) in Arizona’s 4th Congressional District.
“Tanya Contreras Wheeless is a trailblazer and a tenacious advocate for Arizona’s values,” said Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, SBA Pro-Life America’s vice president of government affairs. “Arizonans support commonsense protections for unborn children and mothers. They strongly reject the agenda of extremists like Rep. Greg Stanton, who consistently votes with the radical abortion lobby – even refusing to support medical care for babies who survive abortions. Tanya understands how we can serve hardworking families and safeguard the sanctity of life for all Americans, born and unborn. At a time when countless lives are at stake, pro-life, pro-woman leaders like Tanya are needed more than ever to give the people a voice in Washington.”
A lawyer, business association CEO, Phoenix Suns executive, small business owner and community advocate, Wheeless previously served as deputy chief of staff for pro-life Sen. Martha McSally.
Wheeless is a native of Arizona and a granddaughter of Mexican immigrants. Born to teen parents, she was raised in a working-class home and was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and continuing on to ASU Law. She and her husband Steve have three children and live in Tempe.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
