Pro-life Champion who Exposed Planned Parenthood’s Deception Running to Replace Rep. Tom Price
Washington, D.C. — The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today announced its endorsement of former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel for U.S. House of Representatives. Handel is running for the seat vacated by Rep. Tom Price, now Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
“Karen Handel is a fearless champion of unborn children and their mothers,” said SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser. “In her role at the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Karen took a courageous stand against Planned Parenthood’s shameless bullying. She was instrumental in exposing the abortion giant’s deception and did so with great integrity. We need principled pro-life leaders like Karen in Congress to fight for women and children and get American taxpayers out of the abortion business. We are proud to endorse her.”
Karen Handel was Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Sonny Perdue before being elected as Georgia’s first female Secretary of State in 2006. She is the former Vice President of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the author of the book Planned Bullyhood: The Truth Behind the Headlines about the Planned Parenthood Funding Battle with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Handel resigned from her position as Susan G. Komen Foundation’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy after the organization reversed its decision to end grants to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion provider and does not provide mammograms.
