Washington, D.C.  – In response to changes to Google’s political advertising rules and reports of potential changes to Facebook’s political advertising rules, the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) released the following statement:

“Big Tech’s latest crackdown on speech is part of a chronic, disturbing pattern of censorship,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “SBA List, Live Action, and other pro-life groups have spent years fighting censorship of our ads by social media giants like Facebook, and the severity of Google’s pro-abortion bias was recently exposed. Any new rules for paid advertising would dramatically impact our ability to cut through the bias, reach our audience, and communicate our message ahead of the most important election of our lifetimes for unborn children and their mothers. Lives are at stake, as well as the freedoms we cherish in America that make us a beacon of hope to millions around the world. Everyone who values free speech and a robust exchange of ideas should sound the alarm.”

SBA List is a network of more than 837,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
